Quote of the day

~A hug is worth a thousand words~

Another grey hair for Mama...

Well... as y'all can see i was not here yesterday... though... in brief.. i can say that most of my day was slept away after being up all the previous night with a very sick miss M...
By about 2pm i was finally glad to see my baby wake up... though that happiness turned quickly to panic as she looked at me with her left eye full of blood beneath the covering of the eye... ofcourse... so not to shock or scare her i had to fight back those tears and sobs that threatened to consume me... I WAS SCARED... how do you not relay even a little of that to her?
I had to wait for Matt to get home... i can tell you.. that was the longest hour of my life...while getting my shoes on Jamie came home... (without me being able to warn him) i returned to the lounge room with top end panic of both him and now a very scared miranda..

to the doctors we went... they were waiting for us... (now.. wouldnt this scare you a lil knowing that medical staff were preparing for your arrival?)

Thankfully though, after the doctor gave her eye a good look.. said that it was "only" a subdural conjunctal heamorhage!?! WTF??

there is no such thing as ONLY when your own lil baby is involved...
anyway... apparently, from her severve coughing and the extreme pressure put on her face when she was throwing up she ruptured blood vessels in her eye. It should only take a few days for the blood to vanish.. a little more has spread.. but i will take the doctors advice and just watch it over the next 2 days..

so... there you go... yet a few more grey hairs for me... :(

Afterthought: Happy Halloween!

It's the first year in many that we have not taken the children trick kor treating in full costume... hopefully we wont get any trick or treaters.. with all the drama here i forgot to go shopping!!! ~eek~

Quote of the day

Never leave
that till
tommorrow
which you can
do today.

one weekend down...

well... its one weekend less 'til the move... leaving 5 more... which are TOTALLY going to be hectic but so good regardless...

this weekend was spent christmas shopping... and miraculously... save for a few minor presents for the kids, something for Matt and my mum... im all done!

Within a few hectic hours yesterday and today, i had bought everything i set out to ... (not one thing i didnt) and let the children wander through target and get the clothes they wanted for christmas... Matt and i cringed all the way to the change room considering with the children three and a trolley load of clothes we thought we would be there forever...
Thanks to some planning and sticking Jamie and Miranda in the disabled change room since it was bigger and Kiera in the first change room in the ladies side (just a few steps away) we had everything tried on in about half an hour... definate a legendary effort on all our parts...

Miranda my poor baby is sick again.. she has a cold.... and to top it off has contracted conjuntivitis and infected both her eyes... she is so brave...her top lip and the skin between her nose and the lip is all burned from a runny nose and her eyes hurt something bad though she doesnt complain.. instead, has laid on the sofa most of the day, listening to movies with her eyes closed.. (since that doesnt hurt).. she has drops which hurt her.. though.. again.. so so so brave... She makes her mama so proud!

Well.. im off to wrap these christmas presents...

Tip of the day.

Never ever EVER leave a open little bottle of coke on your desk when you go to the bathroom... (even if it is only for a minute..) if the window your desk is against up open and there is a strong wind blowing.

~insert pulled face here~...

well... the secret i told y'all about today is no longer a matter of being kept top secret thanks to the blasted wind... hmmm... although... the coke did mix nicely with the ink to give a pretty kinda marbled effect im not sure if Alison would have thought it was that pretty.

Though.. even though two days work is now litterally wasted... you know what? im not going to do anything but laugh over it and take the lesson learned and continue on with making the rest of my christmas presents on the list... what else can i do? Stressing is not going to bring back the work gone and no amount of paper toweles will rectify the damage.

On a positive note... Matt and i were ruthless in the garage today... OCD comes in handy sometimes.. i tell ya... never before have i seen a better organised garage. Everything has a home .. archive boxes are a godsend.. everything is labelled.. what has not got a home due to being evicted... is neatly awaiting the truck..

i think im going to go and sit on the fold up chair in the middle of the garage and revel a little bit at this perfect organisation!

Quote of the day

I'm not a genius. I'm just a tremendous bundle of experience.
~R. Buckminster Fuller~

Even the best laid plans....

go to shit!

Why i ever wrote myself a challenge for today i will never know... it all started out smooth sailing.... went to the Scrap store as planned and stocked up on the Basic grey Romani & gypsie papers... uh.. have you seen these? they are so so so purdy! Anywho.. then i went to the warehouse... bought some things for my project for Kiera and came home...

I was true to my word... the phone was ringing off the hook when i came in... i ignored it! ~insert very proud assed grin here~ I guess i should say... "Alision.. if it was you...errrrr... ya should have read my blog and be forewarned... i wasn't answerin'!" :P

I started on Miss M's puzzle.. only to get 11 pieces covered in paper before i ran out of glu stick. Shit-bugger-damn...grrrrrr... soooooo... i left it... i was NOT going to waste valuable scrapping time in a que anywhere waiting to buy more.~L~

So.. you'd think that i would have gone to the next thing on my list right???

WRONG!

while i was out at the scrap store i got all inspired to make something ENTIRELY different... for someone not even on todays challenge list.. wanna know more??

okay... c'mere... but shhhhh... you can't tell.. okay??? she has admitted to being my stalker.. goodness knows when she may be listening in...

i started one of Alisons christmas presents... i'm so excited... i think im a legend in my own lunch box at how well its coming along... but... its s secret... i can't tell you what it is... i guess thats one of the sucky things about blogs... you never know who is reading... right Al? ~laughing~

Afterthough: make not to self not to make notes or to do lists!

and through the clouds comes sunshine.

There is no other word to describe yesterday... other than dismal.. cold... dark.

Have you ever had a day when you have just woken up and from the onset of the day felt like a boeing 747 plummeting out of control from the sky towards land?
That was my yesterday... much like the weather, i too was shrouded in grey skies and no sunshine... it was cold and miserable... bleh...
i hate days like that... though... thankfully... today the sun again shines.. both outside my window and here... with me...
i have a bunch of things on my "challenge me" list to do... though...while they are the same things that were there yesterday, today i have no doubt they will fully get underway..

~*~Challenge me List for today~*~
fridge magnet photo tin x2
ABC jigsaw puzzle
make a start (even if its thinking about) my next SB challenge
plan ahead for Jamie and Kieras christmas mum-made pressy.
Then... all the dull-drum phone calls i have to make in re: to rego etc... double bleh.

its almost the christmas season and i have presents to make.. and fast!
Matt and i as you know yesterday organised our diary so that we could do christmas with his mum and dad and my mum ... well... last night, mum and dad call and say that they want to come down to visit on the 4th of novemeber... (a week EARLIER than Matt and i had planned)... yep.. you know it... ive not started their present... let alone done any shopping for them re: a present... Gah...

i think that my first port of call after dropping Miss Miranda off at school today is a trip to Richardson to my local scrap store.. i have started a puzzle for Miranda what is not like any normal puzzle.. its going to challenge her entirely.. though.. i ran out of the paper i wanted to use...and... well... what other excuse do i really need to visit a scrap supply store? :D

then.. a trip to the warehouse, just to peek at what they have... who knows.. i may find something totally wonderful to alter for Jamie... and a box for kieras pressy... i think im rather settled on what she is gonna get.. though.. more of that later...

after those little visits... im going to stick the car in the garage so i "dont look home" and let the answering machine screen calls for me... (meaning.. ANSWERING THEM ALL) and im gonna
SCRAP!!!

For Sale!?!?

While perusing some forums this morning i came across a thread asking if you were to write a for sale advertisement for yourself, what would you write.. well... this is what i came up with... given the mood i was in this morning.. i think its rather spot on!

"1974 model, eccessive KMs and weather worn appearance. Runs well when given time to warm up. Has many dents and dimples in the exterior and leaks somewhat though nothing that cant be fixed with a little TLC. If nothing else, she would be perfect for parts!"

Perhaps i will write another one in a month and see if the old gal is still as run down!

~LMAO~
time for bed... man... have i been looking forward to this!

And its coming like a freight train..

Wow... I've just been on the phone with Matt this morning, well.. texting anyway. We have been trying to schedule things into our quickly diminishing weekends.

I can't believe how little we can actually do now... We have known about this move for so long now and seriously, up until about a week or so ago.. a day was a day.. you know... it didn't seem to be moving along very quickly... and now.. its hurling towards us like a freight train.

I'm a little scared now... i dont know if that is the word or not... im worried about being that far away from everyone that i love. No longer will we be able to be impromptu and say "what the hell... lets jump in the car and go and visit mum, or mum and dad".... they will be a days drive away! We wont be somewhere we are familiar with... we will i guess.. in a nutshell.. be away from "home". I was born not far from here and in all the places i have ever lived... for the first time.. ever... this place has felt like home.

While we like moving.. (most times) to see places that we have not seen before... for so long i wanted to live in Canberra and now.. here... we are having to move... i don't feel like i've been here long enough. i guess... because 2 years is NEVER long enough somewhere... well.. unless its Katherine, NT!

There are so many beautiful things here that we have said we would visit... take photos of etc... and now... with 2 1/2 weekends free... it looks like we will be running around, doing fly by tours of all those things and snapping away all crazy like... yep.. in the true form of a scrapper and her photographer.

can we do it? I have no doubt we can.

But.. on the lighter side of all that... we get to do christmas 3 times this year... who in their right mind would complain about that?!?

Now... all that said... im off to create create create... i have christmas presents to make... and who knows... i may even get motivated enough to make some cards instead of doing the cheats thing this year and buying them.

(haha. i can imagine a world of scrappers covering their ears at hearing that)

After thought: why is the dictionary on a mobile phone automatically set to dyslexic?

As with everything.. there is a period of teething problems.. for me.. that is today...right at this moment and about 3 hours before it...~L~ i finally took the plunge and got myself a blog... i'm not sure what you will discover here... what i will discover about myself for that matter... though one thing i know... is i wont be beaten... this blogger thing will not win... i will master it... and all its little secrets! Mahahaha.

So... i guess.. its welcome to any~one bored enough to read my welcomes... along the journey... you will get to know me... meet my family and really see how over~rated rational though is... afterall.. you will be ultimately looking into my mind... via this page...
